With a busy real estate day-job work week, I’ve spent some really late nights in the studio this week.   A few months ago, I had Bobby Kennedy record a vocal for my wedding song, “You Are My Everything”.  I finally got around to pulling it up to work on and have been working on the mix for several days now and hope to have it completed and the video prepared and ready to upload later this month.  It’s going to be beautiful!  It takes hours and hours to create these songs and videos but I love every minute of it!  By request, I hope to have sheet music ready for my wedding song sometime in February so check back if you’ve been waiting for it!
Also by request, I’m very close to having sheet music ready for “Green Side of the Grass”  Should have that available within the next week!  I have professionals that I hire to help me create the sheet music and we’re almost finished with this one.   It’s done through computer programs and drafts of the scores are emailed back and forth and can be proofed on the sheet music software that I purchased.   I primarily work off of lead sheets that I create when I write because I play music by ear, not by site.  Simply put, I don’t read sheet music, not fluently!   I do thank my mom for the one year of piano lessons I had when I was 10 years old because I do remember a little bit, enough to get me by, but I’m certainly no expert on music theory and it would take me 8 hours to try to play a 3 minute song with sheet music since I don’t read it well.    I don’t play covers (songs other people have written and performed), and only play my own songs, so learning to read sheet music just isn’t something I want to take on.  I certainly admire those who can read sheet music – that in itself is a gift!    I’m happy to help convert my music into sheet music, however, for other “site readers” to play and enjoy.  That’s actually how the sheet music ordering option started, by people requesting sheet music of my songs…..  I’m honored to be able to share my music.  🙂
