With my mom still needing assistance as she recovers from spine surgery, I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to my music lately.   We just hired a weekend sitter to help out and it has been such a blessing.  (Thank you Stacie!)  Between the weekday sitter and the weekend sitter, I know my mom is taken care of  and my father and I can now have a little bit of our lives back.   I’ve certainly learned that when it comes to helping family, you do what you have to.  I never dreamed I would be assisting with baths, shots, and the like but…. you do what you have to.  Mother has to be given a daily injection of Forteo – the medicine that grows bone to help with osteoporosis/stenosis.  I give her the shots in the evening.  I’ve had bits and pieces of new song ideas floating around in my head but haven’t had the time to complete anything.   I’ve got to be in the right mind frame and lately, I’ve had a good bit on my plate.   I’ve had several song starts about “encouragement”, no doubt inspired from this trial my mother is going through.  It’s funny but I usually wake up with idea’s for the new songs.  Right lately, (I sound like a country girl don’t I!) the melody and lyrics come simultaneously.  The song starts haunt me until I get up and write them down.  I think God has a sense of humor.  He knows I’m not a morning person (watch the video on my video’s page called, “I Don’t Do Mornings”), but these song ideas tend to come to me at like 7:00 a.m.  Drive’s me crazy but I’ve learned to embrace the ideas when they come, no matter what time it is.    I’m actually planning to put together a new video with a new vocal version of the wedding song  “You Are My Everything”.    Kiera Hanselman’s singing on this one and it’s beyond beautiful!   She has the voice of an angel.   That will be my next project.

As a diversion, with my love to buy and sell, I’ve set up a little booth in an Antique store in the nearby town of Havana.   I spent this past week moving things into the booth, pricing, and the like.   I don’t have to man the booth, one just basically rents space in the Antique shop.  It’s been fun clearing out the clutter in our home and arranging my little store.   After all, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure….  You know, we really should store up our treasures in heaven, not hear on earth anyway so after 52 years of accumulation, I’ve decided it’s time to live a little more simplified.  So many projects, so little time…..  My real estate job is keeping me busier than I want to be – taking on a limited number of customers now so I can fit in everything.   Until next time,

Blessings,

Libby 😉
